Man in the Mask

Everybody gets lost sometimes, gets off the right path and ends up regretting some decisions. But how did I get here, in this place, in this existence, looking at this person. Who is he? Where did he come from? Why don’t I recognize him? He’s wearing a mask. What’s behind his?

Mr. Serious
Always ready to say what’s on his mind
Never satisfied to stay behind

Mr. Mysterious
Casting his shadows on all the he sees
Never allowing them inside

Mr. Cool
Ready for whatever goes down
Always keeping his head up around town

Mr. Looking
For the women to fill his heart
Seeking her touch on all his parts

Daddy, Lover, My Man
This is him
Serious, mysterious
Cool and
Looking for you
Coming into his world to
Make things right

Just some of my thoughts on.. Freedom

The chains broke yesterday…today confirmed. I am free! What does my freedom mean to me? What is freedom?

Being bound is like watching the world exist without you. Everyone seems to be moving except you. You are stuck and can’t seem to catch up.

Being free is like viewing the world as it happens, taking in every second, word, and action. Experiencing things as they occur and anticipating the next round.

I am excited in ways you would never know. My mind is full of energy to create. The words flow. The ideas come fluidly. Action is not too far behind. Decisions come without rashness. Careful consideration is given to all that I encounter.

The road is open and clear. For once I get to take my time and explore things prior to committing. I am a bit selfish as well but damn I deserve it. I turned 50 this year. It’s my turn to receive.  I like my freedom. No, I LOVE my FREEDOM!!

Man’s Peace

His heart explodes
As he is forced
To recall the harshness
Of the steps
That closed in near him

On the concrete
His stem so firmly
Ground in the dirt
Trapped way beneath his girth
Cradled him yet strangled him
When he had thoughts
Of breaking free

But each time the sun
Pulled him towards
The warmth of her rays
But at night
The coldness of the moon
Makes him howl

When roots grow cold
Reflecting on the old
Ways that stunted his growth
Made his leaves wilt

But all it took was one ray
To restore his faith
Make him stand strong
Readying his song
To brazen another day

For his soul never dies
Not this one
The Rose
That survived
The concrete
Were there was none

Man’s Heart

A man’s heart
Runs deep
Deep into the
Rivers of his world

With roots tied
To all that he is
His pain
His struggle
His image
His manhood

Everything touches
That place
The place that holds
All of his secrets
Secrets that only
Few know

He carries his load
Like it’s been with
Him always
His strength shows
In his arms

Bulging veins
Pulsing the blood
Giving him the fuel
To lift his head
One more day

His weight is not always
Seen by the naked eye
He covers it so well
The world sees the man
In full control

Only his woman
The one who shares
His seed, his blood
Sees his vulnerabilities
For he trusts her
With his life

The man who pours
Himself out to his
Anxious to give them
What he didn’t get
To protect them
From the attacks of
The world
The predators who
See to devour them

But he knows how
To humble himself
Before the Lord
Whom he recognizes
As the head of his life

He regroups
Refills his soul
Ready to keep going
To carry all
That God has put
In his charge
Under his dominion

Men You Are Blind

Men You are Blind - Man's Revelation by Fedora

The rose that grew
From the concrete
Recognized his flaws
One day he got a glimpse of
His shadow on the ground

The reflection of
His wilted leaf
It saddened him because
For the first time
He saw the results
Of life on the street

Always struggling
To get proper nourishment
From the soil beneath
The hard concrete
Where he lived
Most of his life

Amazed he was able
To grow at all
He realized that
He did bloom

Despite the constant struggle
To plant his roots
In a ground that
Was always against him
Always fighting him
Never feeding him
Never inviting him

But today
The sun shines
Upon the face of his petals
Revealing their true beauty
Reminding him that
There is an abundance
Of life within his stem

He soaks in as much
Sun, water and admiration
As he can
To attract the attention
of the one
Who will adore him
Enough to pick him

He wants to be his best
He wants to give his all
He wants to grow
Richer and taller
Than all the others before him
For it is his destiny
